Safety is everyone’s concern and recognizes no rank. However, to be effective it has to be led by the company’s management. For this reason, the management is committed to making all personnel more safety conscious and encouraging them to become actively involved in identifying possible hazards, implementing corrective actions and constantly monitoring all facets of their working environment to ensure that safety conditions prevail.
Personal Data Policy
Since the company is engaged in recruitment of seafarers it normally handles numerous personal data / information, thus the company is committed to implement controls for the protection of sensitive personal data, including prevention of personal data breaches as required to protect the employees’, stakeholders and customers’ interests.
No Exploitation of Crew Policy
Another illustration of Yialos’ desire to be at the forefront of the shipping industry’s legislative and regulatory frameworks is the Group’s implementation of its “non-exploitation” policy. As in the case of the Group’s “zero tolerance” policy, all joining crew are required to sign a declaration, stating that the Yialos will compensate any seafarer that has been subjected to any act(s) of exploitation, with a reward of up to USD 5,000 and guaranteed employment. This practice typifies the Group’s philosophy of the fair and just treatment of its personnel both ashore and at sea, and adheres to the philosophy that seafarers are its strongest assets. To the best of our knowledge, Yialos is the only manning organisation to implement such a practice, and to this day it has not been implemented by our competitors.
